2013 Grammy Nominations

I worked on two records that were nominated for Grammys this year. Drake and 2 Chains. Both for best rap album of the year. I think Drake probably has a better shot at winning it. Not because it’s a better…

The past couple months have been insanely busy. Been slacking with the updates on here. I’ll have to punish myself when I finish writing this by listening to the new Maroon 5 album on repeat for a few hours. I…

Louis C.K. and Ticketmaster

I’ve always liked the comedian Louis C.K. Now I love him. The comedian announced that he was bypassing Ticketmaster altogether and only selling tickets for his upcoming tour through his website, all for the flat rate of $45. That even…

Sad to hear about the passing of Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. Few bands left actually seem to stand for anything these days. They did that and more. At times, their causes were bigger than their music. It’s one…

Eating My Words

Ok, so Lana Del Rey bombed on SNL. Some dubbing it the worst performance of all time on the show. Well shit. Not the most ideal way to kick off a career. So it was a bad performance. I’m not…

I recently discovered I was mentioned on the cover I recently discovered I was mentioned on the cover of my favorite childhood music magazine @electronicmusicianmag right before Covid hit. I can’t believe I never knew about it. I used to read this thing religiously so it’s a huge honor for me. Thank you @amandablackpanda for that major assist!
Here's a few of my favorite music gear buys in 202 Here's a few of my favorite music gear buys in 2022 that have kept me energized in the studio this year. I think it's important to surround yourself with things that inspire you creatively and these have definitely done that in spades for me. Always looking for any recommendations as well.

1. Mid Century Mic - Used and noticeably damaged mid century mic I bought off eBay. Felt the kindred spirit inside with this one. Welcome to the dysfunctional family little buddy. I've mainly been using this as a secondary mic when recording vocals. It gives off this Ramones distortion vibe that can be a nice layer underneath that adds character to any vocal.

2. Sure Wave Spring Reverb - If you're looking for some spring reverb that's got some big harry balls on it, look no more. This pedal sounds great on any guitar. If Big Foot and Stevie Ray Vaughn had a son, this would be it.

3. Roland Drumatix and Bass Line - I got these Roland's just for fun because I'm a 90's kid and it makes me nostalgic. They make for a great pairing combo as well. Full confession, I haven't exactly come up with anything mind blowing on either of them yet but it's fun as hell to mess with.

“Lighting Crashes” by LIVE was one of my favor “Lighting Crashes” by LIVE was one of my favorite songs growing up as a kid in the 90’s. I remember always hearing it play in the backseat of my parents car and the intro instantly sucking me in like some haunted lullaby. It’s a song that inspired me to want to play the guitar and start this crazy musical journey I”m on so I’m unbelievably honored to be apart of this new version that @aviraaudio envisioned. It’s been a full circle moment for me and excited to see a new generation of listeners hear it. Special shoutouts to @tannerwilfong @itslenaleon @stephkarten and the vocal guru @kenlewisproducer
